Pre-Deployment

One of the most important times in any deployment or work-related absence is before the member even departs. Check out the following resources 6 – 8 weeks before the departure date.

Family Information Line - If you need us, we're here. Any time. Any Reason.
This is a confidential, personal, bilingual and free service offering information, support, referrals, reassurance and crisis management to the military community.

Getting ready for an absence as a couple - If you’re preparing for an absence, whether a deployment, training, or Imposed Restriction, it can be a stressful time. We understand that you both want to set your relationship up for success, keep it strong during the absence, and be prepared for the reunion.

Supporting CAF members and families facing an absence Do you have a friend who is CAF Member or is part of a military family and facing an absence? Are you looking for ways to support them? Absences, whether a deployment, Imposed Restriction, or prolonged training, can be stressful for the CAF Member and their wider family.

Additional mental health resources for CAF members and their families - There are a range of services available to help you and your family members get the care and support you need. You’re not alone, help is available.

Preparing for Deployment Stress This publication is presented as a resource for Canadian Forces personnel, Regular and Reserve, and members of their families.
