Dog Park

Welcome to the Edmonton Garrison Dog Park.  The park is located in the southwest corner of the intersection of Arras Ave and Rge Rd 244 (Hwy 28A).

By entering the Edmonton Garrison dog park, the user agrees to hold the CFB Edmonton harmless and free from liability from any actions of any dog park user(s) or their animal(s). Dog Park users agree to fully comply with all of the dog park rules as posted. The Canadian Armed Forces, Department of National Defence, and CFB Edmonton assumes no liability or responsibility for any accidents, injuries or damages of any nature to animals or people while using the dog park. CFB Edmonton is not responsible for lost dogs or property of any kind. Usage of the dog park constitutes acknowledgement of and agreement to this Disclaimer.
 

  • Before You Go
    • License your dog.
    • For the safety of your dog and others, make sure your dog is up to date on their vaccinations and deworming.
    • Some dogs are not ready for the excitement of off-leash areas. Make sure you know when your dog is becoming uncomfortable, overwhelmed or overexcited.
    • When entering or leaving the Edmonton Garrison Dog Park, please have your dog on a leash.
  • At the Edmonton Garrison Dog Park
    • The behaviour of your dog is your responsibility. Keep your dog under control at all times.
    • Keep your dog in sight and be aware of other park users.
    • Wildlife is present at CFB Edmonton. Do not allow your dog to chase. If you see a coyote, please leash your dog.
    • Clean up after your dog.
    • The use of the Edmonton Garrison Dog Park is subject to the Sturgeon County Dog Control Bylaw and the authority of the Base Commander.
  • Vicious Dogs
    • A vicious dog is a dog that has been declared vicious by any municipality.
    • Any dog subject to an order or direction of a Judge or Justice, pursuant to the Dangerous Dogs Act R.S.A. 2000, c. D-3, as amended, is also considered a vicious dog and subject to all the conditions imposed by the Sturgeon County Dog Control Bylaw
    • Vicious dogs must be leashed and muzzled any time they are outside the owner's property.
    • Vicious dogs are not allowed in in the Edmonton Garrison Dog Park

    Sturgeon County Animal Control responds to animal-related complaints with Sturgeon County including CFB Edmonton.  They ensure compliance with Sturgeon County's Dog Control Bylaw.

    Call a Sturgeon County Animal Control Officer at 780-939-8419 Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After-hours calls can be directed to 780-939-4321 and will be handled through an answering service.

    Animals in distress or animal welfare issues should be directed to the Alberta SPCA at 1-800-455-9003
