File a complaint – Your Language rights

When employees (or the public in the case of Part IV) believe that their OL rights have not been respected, they have the right to make a complaint. These may be internal (within CFMWS) or external (to the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages). Complainants are encouraged to submit internal complaints in, as much as possible, via one of the following structures:

  • Management structure can be asked to look into it and address the problem; or
  • The CFMWS Coordinator Official Languages can be contacted to conduct an investigation

For advice concerning your rights and responsibilities under NPF Official Languages Policy or to discuss registering a complaint, please contact the Coordinator Official Languages at 613-996-7818 or by email [email protected]

If personnel feel it is required, they may take the complaint (externally) to the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages to investigate.
